Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'

It has begun. Day 1 in Central America will be noted for the perfect weather (90 and clear skies) and the discovery of "Happy Hour" at the resort poolside bar (2 for 1 drinks = 2 for $5). Our first stop is in a house on some property known as Gran Pacifica. J2's sister lives and works here with her Nica husband and almost 2 yr old son. With the rest of her family joining us for the first few weeks, we are spoiled and don't consider ourselves "backpackers" yet, so please don't judge us as such. Watching sunsets with drinks by the infinity pool, golfing, surfing, and playing with the Nino. This is the vacation part. 

When the time is right, we will stuff the necessities into our backpacks and venture around this region for a few months at a time. That is when the content of this blog will get more interesting. We will become hardcore travelers. Our skin will be dark and we will be arrogant and brash. Spanish will flow from our tongues. Children will follow us on the streets. The words we write here will feel life changing. But for now, you will have to be entertained with stories and pictures of Kaiden and enthralled wondering when I will finally standup on a surfboard. 

It is a rough life, but we will try our best to post more than once a week and keep our family and friends updated. Gracias por leer.
